Picosecond Tattoo Removal

Advanced picosecond laser technology is used to target unwanted tattoo pigment, whether you're looking for complete removal or simply fading in preparation for a cover up. Pico also fades blue and green inks which are difficult with other machines.

What is Picosecond technology?

Picosecond laser technology delivers ultra short pulses of laser energy measured in trillionths of a second. These rapid pulses break down tattoo pigment into tiny particles which the body gradually clears over time. This allows the ink to be precisely targeted without thermal damage to the surrounding skin.

This is different to the nanosecond machines that many clinics have as it breaks down the ink into much smaller particles .

What colours can it remove?

Not all tattoo colours respond to the same wavelength of laser light. Our Pico laser uses multiple wavelengths, allowing us to target a wider range of colours.

1064nm is commonly used for darker colours such as black and dark blues, while 532nm is suited to reds, oranges and other warm tones. 755nm provides an additional option for pigments that can be more challenging such as blue and green which are held in the skin differently. This extra wavelength is what sets Picosecond lasers apart from the others.
